Working Together to Raise Awareness: MAC Design & Sam’s Superheroes

We’re absolutely delighted to share some truly exciting news!

This week, we had the privilege of meeting with the wonderful team from Sam’s Superheroes Charity — a dedicated organisation working tirelessly to raise awareness, fund vital research, and provide much-needed support for families affected by FIRES (Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome) and NORSE (New Onset Refractory Status Epilepticus).

These are rare and catastrophic seizure disorders that can strike without warning, often changing lives forever. Sam’s Superheroes was founded to make sure that no family has to face these storms alone — and their work has already brought together an incredible community of families, researchers, and advocates.

During our meeting, we were deeply moved by their passion and commitment. We’re honoured to share that Sam’s Superheroes will be working with us to help raise awareness for our children’s book, Thunderstorm Inside My Head.

Our book was created from the heart — to help children, parents, carers, and schools understand what it can feel like to live with epilepsy and seizure conditions. Through gentle storytelling and emotional imagery, Thunderstorm Inside My Head gives a voice to children who may struggle to explain their experiences, helping others see the world through their eyes.

Partnering with Sam’s Superheroes feels like a natural next step in our journey. Together, we hope to

• Raise awareness of FIRES and NORSE across schools, families, and care communities.

• Encourage open conversations around epilepsy and seizure disorders.

• Provide resources that help children express their feelings and experiences in safe, creative ways.

  
  

We truly believe that by joining forces, we can reach more people, share more understanding, and make a difference in the lives of families who need it most.
